The City of Charlotte has released $2.5 Million in CARES Act Funding for Workforce Partner Support Grants. Due to the increase in Charlotte’s unemployment rate caused by COVID-19, resources are needed to increase capacity of our local workforce development programs in order to serve a larger population of residents seeking career resources and job placement assistance.
Eligible applicants must be a Charlotte-based government, non-profit, academic, or for-profit organization that provides direct services in education and workforce development to Charlotte residents. A selection committee, made up of diverse business and community members, will review applications and make award recommendations. Priority will be given to organizations with proven results in education and workforce development programming and to those that impact the most Charlotte residents.
The maximum grant award is $250,000. The submission deadline is Friday, September 18, 2020. Grant award recipients will be announced Friday, October 2, 2020. To learn more about eligibility requirements and apply, click here.
